Ed Sheeran has added a run of Australian dates to his Loop world tour, which will see him return down under in early 2026. The multi-platinum English singer-songwriter will be touring in support of his forthcoming eighth studio album Play, which is set for release on Friday, September 12th. It is set to be his longest tenure in Australia to date, with his run of shows spanning from late January to early March for a total of five weeks. The full list of tour dates and ticketing info can be found below.
The Loop world tour, which will kick off in New Zealand ahead of the Australian tour dates, is described on Sheeran’s social media thusly: “New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in.” The shows will mark Sheeran’s first locally in nearly three years, having last visited in 2023 as part of his +–=÷x world tour. That run saw him perform at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to some 219,000 fans across two nights at the venue – setting an attendance record.
Ed Sheeran – ‘Sapphire’
Play, the follow-up to his 2023 albums – and Autumn Variations, has thus far been flanked by the release of three singles: ‘Azizam’, ‘Old Phone’ and ‘Sapphire’. ‘Azizam’ has found success locally, peaking at number 20 on the ARIA Singles Chart and achieving Gold certification. 2025 has also seen Sheeran release the single ‘Drive’ as part of the soundtrack to the Joseph Kosinski film F1, collaborating with John Mayer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on the song.
Sheeran first visited Australia in 2011, promoting his debut album +. It has gone on to become one of his most visited countries, ranking fourth in his most performed in behind Germany, the US and his native UK. Sheeran became well known in Australia for his ongoing “bromance” with tour promoter Michael Gudinski, dedicating his 2021 song ‘Visiting Hours’ to the late Frontier Touring founder and flying in with his family to both attend and perform at his funeral in Melbourne that same year.
